The first in a new 3-book series, Developing Vocabulary builds a college-level vocabulary to prepare students for studies within academic the various disciplines and everyday situations.

This skills-based series provides plentiful exercises requiring students to explore words through context clues, word analysis, proper usage, and application so that the chapters are associative, comprehensive, and generative. This series makes a perfect companion to the Henry reading series (The Skilled Reader, The Effective Reader, and The Master Reader) or stand-alone.

FEATURES

  • Word lists—Every chapter opens with a discipline-specific list of common terms the student may expect to encounter, laying a foundation for success.
  • "Getting Ready to Read About" feature—A three-part structure opens each chapter: an introduction that includes a visual, information about a particular college course, and the word parts to help students understand discipline specific vocabulary.
