Week 30

Final Review

Objective:

The goal of this review is to prepare for a culminating, comprehensive exam for the course.

Suggested Review Practices:

Students need practice answering multiple choice and free-response questions. Of course, they also need practice simulating the actual conditions of the AP* test. Simulate those conditions during this week.

Pacing Guide:

  • Briefly review chapters 1–8—day 1
  • Briefly review chapters 9–17 and the appendix—day 2
  • 100 question multiple-choice test—day 3
  • Double-essay test—day 4
  • Review corrected multiple-choice and essay exams—day 5
  • Block Scheduling
The review of chapters 1–8 should be given one block, as should the review of chapters 9–17. Give the multiple-choice and essay exams one block. Review of the exams should take no longer than one half of a block, unless questions arise.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Design an experiment studying the effects of napping on mood. Be sure to include an explanation of the following: hypothesis, population, sample, independent variable, dependent variable, experimental group, control group, and operational definitions where needed.
  • Though there should be at least three multiple-choice questions for each performance standard, you should not limit yourself to three questions if you've spent significantly more time covering a particular performance standard.
