The Constitution's two Due Process guarantees each aim to ensure that government acts fairly and in accordance with established rules. Several Constitutional Amendments offer protection of freedom and security of the person. Since the American system of justice presumes a person innocent until proven guilty, the Constitution takes several measures to protect those people accused of crimes.
