Diana Chang
(b. 1934)

Diana Chang, who spent most of her childhood in China, is a contemporary poet whose work reflects her cultural heritage. In fact, many of her poems clearly exhibit the influence of ancient Oriental verse forms. Born in New York City and raised in China, Chang settled in the United States following World War II. She attended Barnard College, graduating in 1955. In addition to writing poetry, she has written several novels including The Frontiers of Love, The Only Game in Town, and Eye to Eye. She has also served as the editor of The American Pen, a journal published by the international writers' association, P.E.N.
