I. G. Edmonds
(b. 1917)

I. G. Edmonds, a collector of folk tales, was born and raised in Texas. As a soldier in the South Pacific during World War II, Edmonds became interested in folklore when he heard a native chief's story of how his island was created. Edmonds then collected and recorded folk tales from every country he visited during his 23 year service with the Air Force. Among the tales he collected were many about a trickster character, which he published in Trickster Tales.
