Lionel G. Garcia
(b. 1935)
Garcia grew up in a small town in south Texas called San Diego in the years just after World War II. He writes about memorable characters such as his emotional grandmother, his crazy Uncle Merce and Aunt Pepa, a town dog, and an unusual priest in San Diego. He writes about people in his immediate family and others with whom he had contact in important ways. He considers all the people he writes about a part of his extended family.
