Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett spent two years writing The Diary of Anne Frank, which is based on The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank. As part of their background work, Goodrich and Hackett visited with Anne's father, Otto Frank. Goodrich and Hackett's play won the Pulitzer Prize, the Drama Critics Circle Award, and the Tony Award for best play of the 1955–1956 season. The Diary of Anne Frank shows the unconquerable spirit of a young girl.
