Garrison Keillor
(b. 1942)

Garrison Keillor was the host of a live radio show called A Prairie Home Companion from 1974 to 1987. The program, which won a Peabody Award and an Edward R. Murrow Award, was filled with the gentle, folksy humor that has become Keillor's trademark. Keillor was born in Anoka, Minnesota. For many years he has contributed to The New Yorker and other magazines. Keillor is the author of the books Happy to Be Here (1982), Lake Wobegon Days (1985), and We Are Still Married: Stories and Letters (1989).
