
Paul O'Neil
(1909–1988)
Journalist and author Paul O'Neil spent most of his career working for Time Inc. O'Neil began his association with Time in the 1930s in Seattle, Washington. There, he worked as a stringer–a person who works part-time as a local correspondent for a newspaper or magazine. In 1944, O'Neil became a staff writer for Time magazine. In 1954, he moved to Sports Illustrated, and then transferred to Life in 1957. O'Neil also wrote for Time-Life Books. Some of his work includes Barnstormers and Speed Kings(1981), The Frontiersmen(1977), and Gemstones (1984). O'Neil died in Port Chester, New York in 1988.
