
Charles Osgood

Charles Osgood hosts CBS's Sunday Morning, a position he has held since 1994. Once called "one of the last great broadcast writers" by his predecessor, the late Charles Kuralt, Osgood has received some of the highest awards in broadcast journalism.
Before joining CBS News in 1971, Osgood worked in radio as an anchor, reporter, and program director. For a few years, he work on general assignment for ABC News. Throughout his lengthy career, Osgood earned impressive honors for his work, including three Emmy Awards and three George Foster Peabody Awards. In 1990, he was inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He holds honorary doctorates from numerous universities, including Trinity College, Colby College, Fairleigh Dickenson University, and Franklin and Marshall.
An accomplished author, Osgood has written five books including See You on the Radio (1999), and The Osgood Files (1991). His daily news commentaries continue to draw scores of dedicated listeners.
