
Richard Peck

Richard Peck was born in Decatur, Illinois. Peck is best known for his young-adult novels such as Ghosts I Have Been, Dreamland Lake, and Secrets of the Shopping Mall. Peck became familiar with contemporary adolescent problems while teaching high school. Since he gave up teaching in 1972 with the publication of his first novel, Don't Look and It Won't Hurt, Peck has published more than 15 novels dealing with concerns of teenagers. Difficult relationships, the meaning of friendship, and the joys and sorrows of love are just a few of the themes in his books.
