
Roberto Félix Salazar

Roberto Félix Salazar is a poet of Mexican American descent. He is a native of Laredo, Texas. In his famous poem "The Other Pioneers," Salazar celebrates his heritage. More specifically, he commemorates the contributions made by his Spanish ancestors in the colonization of Texas and the southwestern United States. This influential poem was first published in 1939.
