Carl Stephenson
(1893–1954)

Carl Stephenson was born in Germany and lived there all his life. Leinigen Versus the Ants, was first published in 1938, and it has been widely read ever since. It has appeared in numerous collections of short stories. According to Stephenson's literary agent, Leiningen Versus the Ants may be the only story that Stephenson would allow to be published during his lifetime.
