Author Biographies

Bryan Woolley
(b. 1937)

A lifelong resident of Texas, author Bryan Woolley has set all of his fiction in his native state. In addition to his first book, an autobiographical novel entitled Some Sweet Day (1974), Woolley has written Time and Place (1977) and the acclaimed novel, November 22 (1981), about the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas. His last novel to date, Sam Bass (1983), won the coveted Spur Award in 1983.

In addition to being a novelist, Woolley is also a senior writer for The Dallas Morning News. He has won numerous awards for his journalism and has published several collections of his work. Woolley is also a past president of the Texas Institute of Letters, a member of the Texas Folklore Society, and a member of the Texas State Historical Association. He currently lives in Dallas.
