The Constitution Community
A partnership between classroom teachers and the National Archives and Records Administration, this site offers lessons and activities related to constitutional issues, all based on analysis of primary source documents. The lessons are arranged chronologically and correlated to national curriculum standards.

Freedom Forum
The Freedom Forum is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to free press and free speech. The Web site features news, analysis, and other information about First Amendment issues. It also provides information about programs and events sponsored by the forum.

Supreme Court of the United States
This is the official Web site of the United States Supreme Court. It provides general information about the rules and procedures of the Court, information on visiting the Court, and a list of links to other related sites.

Oyez Project—U.S. Supreme Court Multimedia Database
This Web site provides information on leading constitutional law cases decided by the Supreme Court. Students can find out what happened on this day in Supreme Court history, take a virtual tour of the Supreme Court building, and find information on past and present Supreme Court justices.

Federal Government Information
This Web site includes a link to the Federal Government Locator, which offers "one stop shopping for federal government information on the WWW." Maintained by Villanova Center for Information Law and Policy, it also contains links to numerous government branches and agencies.

Thomas Legislative Information
The Library of Congress maintains this Web site, which offers a wealth of information about the legislative branch, including a searchable database of House and Senate bills, committee schedules, and the full text of the daily Congressional Record.

CongressLink
This Web site provides current and historical information about the U.S. Congress, as well as explanations of congressional procedures and selections by scholars and experts. The site also features lesson plans and classroom activities.

U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate
These are the official Web sites of the House and the Senate, offering floor schedules and committee information for both bodies. The Senate site also features useful background information for students and teachers, including a brief introduction to the Senate and its history, explanation of how the Senate works, virtual tours, and a glossary of terms.

The White House
This site features statements, speeches, and press releases from the President, as well as information on other topics relating to the executive branch.

 

Citizenship

Youth Service America
This Web site, sponsored by the Youth Service America, describes the link between youth volunteering and good citizenship. It provides data on the changes that occur when students volunteer and help others.

Kids Voting USA
Kids Voting USA is a “nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots organization dedicated to securing democracy for the future by involving youth in the election process today.” The site contains both teacher and student areas, with surveys, activities, and links.

International Youth Hall of Fame
This Web site features stories about young people who contribute to their communities by sharing their talents and helping others.

Project Vote-Smart
This Web site provides information on candidates on the federal, state, and local level, including voting records, position statements, and evaluations by a broad spectrum of special interest groups. The site also includes lesson plans and curriculum materials for teachers.

The Center for Civic Education
This nonpartisan educational corporation administers a range of curricular, teacher-training, and community-based programs in civics/citizenship education. Programs focus on the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, American political traditions and institutions, civic participation, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens.

The PBS Democracy Project
