Revolution Unit: Guidelines for Literature and Original Writings

Literature:

Minimum 2 pieces per group to coordinate with your Revolution Project topic.
Examples: Poetry, letters, diaries, etc.

Original Writing:

Each group member must submit one piece of original writing. Honors students are encouraged to submit more than one piece of writing.

Examples of original writing include, but are not limited to:

  • Recipe poem (handout available)
  • Narrative poem
  • Concrete poem
  • Series of cinquain poems (minimum of 3)
  • Animate the role of an inanimate object
  • Eulogy (poem or prose)
  • Person in History: Become a famous person and relive his/her important moment in time (tell us about it!)
  • Journals/Diaries
  • Letters
  • News articles, first-person reflective, "eyewitness" account
  • Editorial to a newspaper on your opinion of a specific event or concept tied to your chosen revolution
  • Cartooning and captioning (minimum of 4 related frames, like "Peanuts")
  • Create a song using first person (I or We) (FEEL FREE TO PERFORM!)
