Forrest Fonnesbeck

teacher photoForrest Fonnesbeck has been teaching over 34 years. His career includes 17 years in Idaho, one year in Washington, and 16 years in Utah. He has taught world history and geography, and he is currently teaching U.S. history and Advanced Placement economics at Dixie High School in St. George, Utah.

Mr. Fonnesbeck spearheaded the economics curriculum at Dixie High School and has been very supportive of the annual Utah "Stock Market Game." Dixie High School has placed in the top five stock market teams statewide several times.

A graduate of Utah State University with a B.A. in history and geography, Mr. Fonnesbeck later received his master's degree from the University of Delaware in economic education. Through the years, he has participated in a number of national seminars and workshops on economic education. Mr. Fonnesbeck has served on an advisory board for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco on education and information. He also acts as a liaison for high school economic education at Southern Utah University, working with teacher training in economics.

Mr. Fonnesbeck is currently serving as Associate Director for the Center of Economic Education at Southern Utah University. Mr. Fonnesbeck has enjoyed coaching football, basketball, softball, and track and has received several Coach of the Year honors.
