Section 1A: Reading and Interpreting Graphs

1.	Look at the map of confirmed unprovoked shark attacks in the world. Which area has had the most shark attacks? Which area has had the fewest shark attacks? What are some factors that could affect shark attack statistics? Is the map misleading in any way? If so, how would you correct it? If not, what could the mapmakers have done to make it misleading?
2.	Look at the map of confirmed unprovoked shark attacks in the United States. Which state has had the most shark attacks? Revisit your answer to 1c. Does it still seem reasonable?
