Concept 2: Plant Cell Structure

Plant cells are distinguished from other cells by the presence of a cell wall, a large central vacuole, and (in many cells) chloroplasts.

Review your knowledge of plant cell structure by labeling the generalized plant cell below and answering the questions. Label the following: cell wall, plasma membrane, nucleus, vacuole, tonoplast, chloroplast, amyloplast (starch granule), mitochondrion. In the boxes to the left, type the name of each cell part, corresponding to the numbered parts shown in the cell below.
