This page is a service of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. It is a rich resource with news, fact sheets, searchable databases, and links to other sites.
 
In addition to government programs, there are many private organizations, high schools, and colleges working to discourage substance abuse. Here are links to a few:

National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence
This is the home page of a national organization founded in 1994. It provides information about programs, offers literature, and can also connect you with local councils around the country. Check out their two online brochures for teens:
