of governmental agencies have programs to reach out and prevent
abuse, and to assist those with ongoing drug abuse problems.

- This page is a service of the U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services and the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.
It is a rich resource with news, fact sheets, searchable databases,
and links to other sites.

- In addition to government programs, there are many private
organizations, high schools, and colleges working to discourage
substance abuse. Here are links to a few:
- National Council
on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence
- This is the home page of a national organization founded
in 1994. It provides information about programs, offers literature,
and can also connect you with local councils around the country.
