  1. Shine a flashlight straight down on a sheet of graph paper. Count how many of the boxes are lighted by the flashlight. Record the number.
  2. Tilt the flashlight, making sure you keep it at the same height. Again, count the number of boxes that are lighted by the flashlight. Record the number.

  1. Which of the above situations models the sun's rays on the equator?
