Chapter 35: The Biosphere
You can tell a lot about a biome by looking at its distinguishing characteristics. Develop a table that lists the seven land biomes described in your textbook. Include temperature range, amount of precipitation, and characteristic plant and animal life. Study your table and then answer the following questions.
Analyze the Table
- Which of the biomes gets the most precipitation? The least?
- Which of the biomes has the highest temperatures? The lowest?
- Which biome do you think can support the most plant life? Explain your answer.
- Most desert animals are active at night or in early morning. Why do you think that is?
