Solving a Protist Puzzle
Chapter 15: Protists

Euglenoids are difficult to classify because they have characteristics of both plants and animals. Euglenoids are similar to animals because they lack a cell wall and they move by means of flagella. They are similar to plants in that they have chloroplasts and are able to perform photosynthesis. Because of their ability to perform photosynthesis, euglenoids are traditionally classified with other plantlike protists—the algae.
