Trimming Trees
- Chapter 18 - Energy, Transport,
and Growth in Plants
There's more to trimming trees than simply sawing away. Proper
trimming requires both hard work and some careful thought. Trimming
can also protect both the health of a tree and the plants around
it. If you'd like more information, consider contacting a local
arborist or tree worker. The following sites can teach you a
bit about what arborists do and help you to locate one in your
area:
- Arboriculture Online
- This is the home page of the International Society of Arboriculture.
It includes Tree
Care Consumer Information and a Certified
Arborist List, which you can search to locate a certified
arborist who works in your area.
- National Arborist Association
- This is the trade-association for companies that care for
trees. The site has information on what arboriculture is and
how to become an arborist.
-
- To learn about how and why electric companies trim trees,
visit Trimming Trees for
Outage Prevention and Safety by the Lincoln Electric System
in Lincoln, Nebraska.
